Artist Statement

Wendy Kaplan Friend

Wendy Kaplan Friend is a leading New York metal artist. Her creative and innovative works have been exhibited in galleries and in private collections. All of the artist’s unique designs are painstakingly hand forged from stainless steel. Her welding process uses different heat treatments to create organic and one of a kind shapes.

Ms Kaplan Friend has been an artist for more than 30 years, working in various media, including marble, glass and metal. She currently teaches graphic design and has worked as a consultant in fine arts museums in New York and Los Angeles. Wendy holds an MA in Museum Education from the Bank Street College and Multi Media Certificate from UCLA.
